Dear ODOG Friends,
This is a season of dog park success and lots of opportunities to insure the future of off-leash recreation.. Construction is authorized to start at Mosswood Dog Park and we had an easy "closing day" at Joaquin Miller Dog Park. We don't have news to report on the Serpentine Prairie closing or the Lake Merritt Dog Park status at this time but we will let you know as soon as we do.

We sent out notices for two families who lost dogs in the Oakland Hills and are happy to report that the little red pit puppy was reunited with her owner. Read the whole story here.

Our Dog Park Needs YOU
During  Woodminster Theater shows, when cars descend on Joaquin Miller Park, our dog parks convert back into their earlier incarnations as parking lots. (Let's see. Which would you rather be -- dog park or parking lot? Hmmm.)
Thanks a million to
our dog park "closing team" of Hanna, Joanna, Jolene, Dale, Darlene, John, Nick & Mike, Aletha, Ron, Raquel, Carolina & Enrique, Cindy, Jack, Kino and Emily. Great teamwork made the closing project fun.

Meet Chase, A Volunteer Extraordinaire

Have you met our "foxtail volunteer"? Mr. Chase Smith came to the Friday Night dog park social hour in early June and was busy helping set up the event-without even being asked-- faster than a Jack Russell can catch a ball. Chase Foxtails

Monday was Chase's day off from his job with the City. But at eight o'clock Monday morning Chase was volunteering in the dog park with his own weed whacker. No time wasted, even at the Mayor's Office, Chase just got the task done. Anyone who wants to thank him can drop a line to him here.   Meet Chase's two Poodles, two Rottweilers and two humans.
