Hardy was the first dog park in Oakland, established about 1995. It is in the Rockridge neighborhood, located under the freeway and BART tracks at the corner of Hudson Street and Claremont Avenue.

A small part of Hardy Dog Park will be closed during the BART retrofit in 2009. The Hudson Street gate and the Hudson end of the park will be closed for a few months. This will decrease the space for dog owners by about 15%.
